A Brief History of Solihull 18 Plus / Solihull Plus / Solihull QuestMarch 1977Solihull 18 Plus opens at the Golden Lion, Warwick Road, Solihull by a development committee from Castle Bromwich 18 Plus. Les Ross of BRMB was the celebrity guest. The first night was so successful that it was quickly apparent that a larger venue was required.Sometime later in 1977Solihull 18 Plus moves to the Civic Hall. Membership rose rapidly reaching nearly 200.Early 1982The Civic Hall was privatised and Solihull 18 Plus was forced to look for another venue. They moved into the function room of the Masons Arms known as 'The Ship'. With attendances of over 80 every week this room was far to small so they looked again.Three months laterSolihull 18 Plus moves into Solihull Rugby Football Club, Sharmans Cross Road.1985After some bad feeling from the rugby club management Solihull 18 Plus moves just a few yards up the road to Silhill Football Club.1998The group celebrated it's 21st birthday with
attendance from the Mayor of Solihull and many members from the past. 2002The group celebrated it's 25th Anniversary with a
reunion. In attendance were Les Ross and the Mayor of Solihull Beryl Kellie plus
many former members over the years.
2007 The Group celebrated it's 30th Anniversary with a
reunion.
2010
The group moves the The Glades Sports & Social Club. 2012
The group celebrates it's 35th birthday with a big
reunion party. Due to financial restrictions the group now moves to the Fieldhouse Pub, Hillfield. 2013 Following the National age range change the group is renamed Solihull Quest.
