Our Structure and Constitution

Plus is a collection of many different organisational bodies. Currently there are four classes of organisational body: National, Area, Group (or club) and Quest Group (or club).

National is the body that controls the overall aims and ideals of Plus, it also coordinates items that are more efficiently organised centrally such as as this website and public liability insurance.

There are multiple Areas that organise things for a specific geographic area. There are five areas; Northern, Midlands, Southern, North Thames and Chilterns and Anglia & South East. Each area has representation on the National committee. Plus groups fall into an Area's geography and similarly have representation on the Area committee, officially members of Plus groups must initially join while under the age of 36. A Quest group is partnered with a Group but with a different age range, 36 upwards.

National meets every three months with representation from each Area, this is mandatory according to the constitution at the time of writing and has been the case for some time. The National constitution may be altered by the National Committee by way of representing the wish of the respective Area, or at the Annual General Meeting which is held in February.

There are model constitutions for Areas and Groups and Quest-Groups, these are usually implemented as-is but they may be altered by their members at a General Meeting as long as the alteration does not contradict the constitution of the bodies above them in the hierarchy.
