Plus and Quest both offer their members the chance to meet new people, make new friends and enjoy a wide range of weekday and weekend activities on a local, Area and National basis. Hundreds of members meet up each week in around 40 different locations and our events calendar is always full with almost every type of activity you can think of.

Plus History

The organisation which is now known as Plus started well over 60 years ago. There have been many changes over the years, to arrive at the organisation as it is now.

To learn more about our journey, click here for information about the History of Plus.

Plus is Voluntary

Plus is a voluntary organisation therefore all Plus activities are organised by Plus members, so active involvement is appreciated, but not obligatory.

You can do as much or as little as you feel like. You could help out with organising events, take part or just relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. You are sure to be made welcome, whatever your level of interest and involvement.

Plus Groups

All the Plus Groups are listed on the right hand side of the page.

If there's no Plus Group near you and you wish to discover how you can connect with Plus then please click the Area link (at the foot of the list) and make contact there.

Quest Groups (Second Tier Plus Groups) are listed seperately to the right.

Plus "River of News"

Below you will find the National Plus 'River of News' - this is a list of all national scale Plus events, news, event reviews and articles on the web-site in order of submitted date.

The Cotswold Falconry Centre is located in Batsford Park, next door to the Batsford Arboretum, about 1 mile from Moreton-in-Marsh. The centre offers visitors the chance to see a variety of birds of prey, including falcons, hawks, eagles, owls, vultures, caracara, kites, and secretary birds, at much closer quarters than would be possible in the wild. You may also get to hold one of the birds during the regular daily flying displays. The centre now has 60 species, of which 29 have bred since the centre opened in 1988. A few species may be off show at any given time for breeding or moulting.

The Owl Wood Project, opened in 2005, features a number of aviaries in a natural woodland setting, and houses a selection of British and other owl species. It is also equipped with CCTV and infra-red cameras for viewing the secretive comings and goings to a variety of owl nest sites.

The centre also offers a variety of special experience days and falconry courses. See the centre's website for details and gift vouchers.

IMPORTANT NEWS

Dear fellow Plusser

1. WASH IS BACK TO IT'S TRADITIONAL WEEKEND - BONFIRE WEEKEND

2. PLEASE READ THE STATEMENT BELOW

Last year we had 176 attend WASH compared with 229 in 2008. Following our
de-briefing meeting with the management of Searles we feel it only fair to
bring each and every one of you up-to-date with the situation .

The situation is that Searles have told us that it is uneconomic to continue
with an attendance such as last years, and as such in order to run this
years event we are having to 'guarantee' 250 beds are booked, particularly
as Searles are now taking bookings for the venue all year round.

Our research has shown that the vast majority of members wish to keep WASH
as it is at Searles'. To this end we have negotiated that we will 'buy'
the balance of accommodation not booked by yourselves. For example, if 190
people attend WASH this year we will have to 'buy' 60 berths.

This will come from WASH reserves AND CAN BE DONE FOR ONE YEAR ONLY as this
will effectively drain our reserves. If we get sufficient bookings WASH
will continue next year as we will have the funds intact, but if not this
really will be the last WASH.

In order that we can have a better idea of roughly how much we are going to
have to take from WASH reserves we would ask for your help in getting
deposits in as early as possible. We will be sending out all the paperwork
at the end of March instead of the usual June, so this gives you more time.
If anyone needs to book individually please contact us and we can sort
something out.

We will keep everyone updated as to bookings numbers by personal e-mails
where we have them, the one-list and on Facebook's WASH Appreciation page.
